hepburnforever @ 05:54 pm: Country Music Graphics
Hey everyone!

I got a Paint Shop Pro 9 program a couple of months ago and I was wondering if anyone woudl want me to make them any country graphics. I've made a couple Conway and Loretta signatures for boards, so I thought i'd ask. :)

shadowyfigure @ 11:55 pm: Scott Walker.
Though he isn't really country, I can't help but share the wonder that is Scott Walker with this community. It must have been after hearing Johnny Cash's version of "Lady Came From Baltimore" and realizing that I like Scott Walker's version much better. So I decided to share it. Also, Neko Case recorded his song "Duchess" on her album The Virginian. The original is a true delight to the ears. Enjoy.

Oh, a bit of a warning though: Many Scott Walker fans are pretenious hipsters. But he's often not far from Lee Hazelwood among collections of the true music lover. The hipsters are just an annoying part of the reality that is obscurity, unfortuantely.

phyllisgabor @ 06:41 pm: are those Loretta Lynn jeans you're wearing?

I found this AMAZING order form for Loretta Lynn's clothing line inside a copy of her Lookin' Good LP from 1980.

hepburnforever @ 11:52 pm: What an Awesome Night!!!
Man, if any of you guys ever get the chance to see the Hag in concert- GOOO!!! It was soo unbelievable!!! His band-the Strangers-warmed up the crowd before he came on by playing a ton of older songs...such as "Together Again," "I've Always been Crazy" and a few others. They were the best!!! When Merle came out, the place went crazy!!! He's just amazing. My favorite part was when he started to sing "Happy Birthday" to himself, since his birthday was last Thursday. He's pretty funny, too. From where I was sitting(front row), I was directly caddycorner to where he was standing on stage. Anyway, just thought I'd share. Hope everyone has a safe and happy Easter.

shadowyfigure @ 04:37 pm: Neko Case
Can someone make me some Neko Case CDs? Maybe we could trade. I have this great album of Ray Charles' country & western songs, as well as every song Hank Williams (Sr.) ever recorded. I also need the second disc of The Essential Marty Robbins: 1951-1982. The problem is that I get all my music from the library and put it on my computer and it's all free! Well, sometimes they don't have what I want or the CDs are not as I expected them to be, as in the Marty Robbins case where, for some reason, they only have one CD of the set. So then I have to resort to friends and sometimes buying them. But I'm a poor college student so that's usually a last resort.

Oh, and did you hear that Gene Pitney died? "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" is one my favorite songs to play in the spring/summertime. That song rocks, you must hear it if you haven't. And see the movie too, it's brilliant.
